OBA embodies the Yoruba king, a symbol of unity and strength whose legacy resonates through generations. The Yoruba people, one of Africa's largest ethnic groups, primarily from Southern Nigeria, have a rich cultural heritage that extends to the Caribbean.
The king's attire, including the agbada (a flowing robe made from hand-woven Aso-Oke), the bead-embroidered crown (Ade-Oba), and the staff (Opa), all signify his high status, authority, and the deep respect he commands as both ruler and guardian of his people.
